We know this is a challenging time for faculty and staff in higher education and that many are under increased stress as well as increased demands.
Our courses continue to run as scheduled as they are offered in a completely online format and are designed to help instructors be more effective in their teaching practice.
In fact, many instructors have found additional value in the Significant Learning by Design courses during this unpredictable time. The Integrated Course Design model and process of Backward Design allow instructors to create solid designs that are adaptable to different formats.
We continue to modify our course materials, offering additional ideas and resources around planning for an uncertain future as situations change, and our discussions reflect the current realities and stresses of these situations on higher education professionals.
Because our courses are offered as mini-online courses through Canvas, participants have found it valuable to gain the experience of engaging in a well-designed fully online course from the student’s perspective as they look to develop their own online courses.
